Joy

Since my childhood days, I am inspired by artistic representations, like portrait and landscapes, which expresses joy, happiness, beauty, and pleasant feelings. Once in Mumbai, I visited an exhibition of a legendary artist, Late John Fernandes. What a beautiful and joyful work he had exhibited! I was completely mesmerized by his work and everybody was enjoying the pleasant feeling that his work evokes. I was there for more than three hours. It has left a great impact on my mind.
My present work, whatever I do, with the pencil drawing, has influenced the same mindset of expressing joy, beauty, and happiness. This drawing is also one of my experiments to be able to express joy through my pencil drawing. It takes a lot of time to complete such kind of work with a certain blend of texture throughout the drawing, created by using only one grade of pencil. I love the texture created by the pencil on paper, that’s why trying to keep the fluent texture throughout the drawing is of utmost importance to me.
